Stove top Mac & Cheese

One of my favorite comfort foods is mac and cheese! Typically, baking it is my favorite way to make it. I decided to try a new spin on this classic recipe, our oldest son has soccer practice a few times a week. I was short on time and just needed to get dinner out on the table! Life can be incredibly hectic between school, activities and just daily routines with having 6 children.

Sometimes the best dinners are just the easy classics! I was concerned that making the mac & cheese on the stove, it would be more bland without getting the crispy edges like the oven. I added just a tad bit of seasonings that I normally wouldn’t use. It really added to the dish without taking over the flavor completely. This was also a kid approved recipe! They kept coming back for more!!

Stove-top Mac & Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 lb elbow noodles
  • 4 cups cheese ( I used mozzarella and cheddar, but use any kind of cheese you like)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Bring your pasta to a boil, cook until pasta is soft. Drain the noodles and return to pan.

Place your stove on the lowest heat setting, add butter, milk and seasonings first. Combine well. Add cheese slowly and stir well to make sure the cheese is combining with the noodles. When all the cheese is melted you are ready to serve!

Simply and Delicious! Let us know if you give our recipe a try! We love to hear from you!

XOXO

Danielle
